Flight Training

Avelo Airlines offers a structured and efficient training program designed to prepare new hires—both First Officers and Direct Entry Captains—for immediate success in Part 121 operations. Training begins with ground school and systems instruction focused on Avelo’s all-Boeing 737 fleet, followed by simulator training and Initial Operating Experience (IOE).

Trainees receive $7,350/month during training, with single-occupancy hotel accommodations and uniform expenses covered. IOE is paid at the applicable Captain or First Officer rate and includes fully covered travel and lodging.

The training footprint is compact and fast-paced, tailored to experienced aviators who meet 14 CFR 121.436 requirements. Emphasis is placed on operational reliability, safety, and preparation for flying across Avelo’s diverse network, which includes domestic and international charter routes throughout the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Caribbean.

With the airline expanding bases and growing its B737 fleet, Avelo’s training pipeline is positioned to support rapid pilot onboarding, offering clear pathways for advancement. The carrier’s training culture reflects the leadership’s legacy at major airlines, bringing rigorous standards, real-world readiness, and professionalism to every new hire class.
