Flight Training

  • Piedmont’s Cadet Program is tailored for pilots holding a Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate with an Instrument Rating and a minimum of 500 total flight hours. Key features include:
    • Flexible Time Building: Cadets can accumulate flight hours through various means—flight instructing, charter flying, or banner towing—without being tied to a specific school or program.
    • Financial Incentives: Participants receive a $15,000 bonus, with the option to earn up to $30,000 through additional incentives.
    • ATP-CTP Course Coverage: Piedmont covers the cost of the ATP-CTP course, including hotel accommodations and ground transportation.
    • Guaranteed First Officer Position: Upon meeting ATP minimums and completing the ATP-CTP course, cadets are placed into the next available new hire class at Piedmont without an additional interview.

At Piedmont Airlines, we believe in rewarding experience and commitment from day one. Here’s what you can expect:

  • First Officer Starting Pay: $96 per hour (Year 1)
  • Captain Starting Pay: $153.75 per hour (Year 1)
  • Per Diem: $1.90 per hour
  • Longevity Credit: Bring your experience from another 121 carrier and earn higher pay based on your previous service.
  • No Training Contracts: We invest in you—no strings attached.
  • Cadet Bonus: $15,000 for pilots who join through the Piedmont Airlines Cadet Program.

Hiring

  • First Officers: Piedmont is hiring First Officers, with a starting pay of $96 per hour. Pilots with 750 qualifying hours are compensated at the Captain pay rate, which starts at $153.75 per hour. 
  • Direct Entry Captains: Experienced pilots can join as Direct Entry Captains, earning between $146 and $180 per hour, depending on prior 
  • Cadet Program: Piedmont offers a Cadet Program for pilots with 500 hours of total time, providing $15,000 in bonuses and financial incentives to assist in building flight hours.
  • Bonuses: Direct Entry Captains and High-Time First Officers: Eligible for up to $175,000 in bonuses during the first year. 
  • Minimum of 12 days off per month.
  • 150% pay on select holidays.
  • Commuting pilots receive four hotel nights per month.
  • Long-call reserve status after 250 hours as a Piedmont Captain. 
  • Upgrade Timeline: First Officers have the opportunity to upgrade to Captain within 12–18 months.
  • Flow-Through Program: Piedmont pilots are on a contractual flow to American Airlines, providing a clear path to a major carrier.
